Grace Jones is a very inspirational person to me. She is very eccentric with her music and modeling catalog. For this project I was inspired by Ms.Jones persona of being out going, yet disciplined. I want to showcase her carefree, meaningful, intentional demeanor.
The concept behind these photos is to capture feminine and masculine features . In the first image I decided to manipulate a background to show the pop and subdued feeling of an artist's inner thoughts.
This series was very fun and challenging to capture. It took me a while to find the right model, clothes and make up to mimic Grace Jones characteristic. I use strobe lights to capture the masculine angles and the back light to soften the feminine quality.
